Writing Towards Ecological Becoming: a workshop of playing with ecological tension
Please Join Art in the Park in welcoming artist Marc Herbst, who will be leading a workshop in focus, play and writing. Through methods of focused play, this workshop aims to produce individual and collective writing through the social tensions of ecological entanglements.

The Big Read
In celebration of this year’s Big Read, Art in the Park will be an hosting a weekly, artist-led reading and discussion circle starting on April 1, and in May we’ll host an afternoon dumpling dinner and an art exhibition.
Reading and Discussion Circle of Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu
Copies of Interior Chinatown will be provided. Readers are encouraged to commit to coming each week.
First session: April 1 from 2–3pm

Meditional Drawing
Meditational Drawing is a 6 session workshop lead by Artist and MFT Micheal Bauer.
Meditational drawing serves as an entry point for participants to learn practices for insight building and emotional well being through various drawing approaches, using mindfulness and meditation as a focus in artmaking. The goal of these workshops is to promote emotional wellbeing, community building, and interpersonal connection through drawing processes.
First session: April 2 from 10:00–11:30am
We encourage everyone that signs up to attend each session.

If participant is under 18, a signed permission slip will need to be filled out and brought in or emailed before the first session.
Community Arts
Community Arts is held outside in Hermon Park each Saturday. Join us in exploring the arts, from puppets to painting.
Let’s keep each other healthy, please stay home if you feel unwell or have any potential Covid symptoms. If the weather is extreme due to high heat or rain, Community Arts will be canceled.

Community Band
Community Band with Logan Hone is held outside in Hermon Park each Saturday, as a series of creative musical sessions and concerts. Musicians of all skill levels, ages, & backgrounds are invited to join the band in learning an eclectic mix of music, including jazz, latin, folk, & original material. Participation is free. Bring your instrument, water, and snacks. Percussion instruments are provided.
