Brandon Baker is a writer, poet, lecturer, youth mentor, and social justice advocate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Social Justice Communication at Cal State Los Angeles—a metaphorical long, long way from his humble beginnings in West Covina, California. Brandon was incarcerated for 25 years. In the fall of 2024, Brandon was “found suitable” and released from Lancaster State Prison.
The stories and poems in his newly published chapbook, “Where I Belong,” serve as vivid snapshots of his life before, during, and after his incarceration.
