Community Band in the Park

This coming Saturday, Feb 19, Community Band’s director Logan will be out of town and we are lucky to have a fantastic substitute! Alex Wand will be teaching the band some of his original rounds and favorite folk songs.

Logan will be back the next Saturday, February 26 and the band will continue to jam each Saturday in preparation for our next concert on April 23.

About Alex:
Alex Wand is a composer interested in folk music, ecology, futurism, social practice art, tuning systems, field recording, and dance/multimedia collaborations. He performs as a solo artist and in bands Desert Magic (with Logan!) and the Partch Ensemble. He also helps run songadayforamonth.com, an online songwriting community. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in music composition at UC Santa Cruz.


Calling all musicians searching for a friendly, all-ages, music-making environment!

Free to participate. All ages.

Art in the Park is excited to welcome back the Community Band with Logan Hone in person. The socially distanced band will be playing outside in Hermon Park each Saturday, as a series of creative musical sessions and concerts. Musicians of all skill levels & backgrounds are invited to join the band in learning an eclectic mix of music, including jazz, folk, & original material. Participation is free and registration is required. Bring your instrument, water, snacks, and a mask. Some percussion instruments will be provided.

*Please note: Proof of Vaccination or a negative Covid test result within 72 hours is required for entry, for all persons over 12
