Community Arts – tangrams
April 9, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:50 pm
Join us in exploring the birds, insects, and animals that make the park their home by creating tangrams.
Tangrams are puzzles invented in China sometime around the late 18th century and then carried over to other parts of the world. They’re made out of seven flat polygons, called tans which together, form an image. Some of the images we will be creating are hummingbird, butterfly, fox, squirrel, peacock, and parrot. Thousands of images that can be made from a tangram!
The shapes in a tangram are:
- 2 large right triangles
- 1 medium right triangle
- 2 small right triangles
- 1 square
- 1 parallelogram
