June 25th Summer Solstice and Midsummer-inspired workshop lead by Artists Isabel Theselius and Síta Valrún
Come join us at Art in the Park for a summer solstice and midsummer-inspired workshop hosted by Swedish artist Isabel Theselius and Icelandic artist Síta Valrún. They will introduce us to techniques for making wreaths using local and seasonal flowers, herbs, and plants that have medicinal qualities and symbolic meanings. According to Nordic folklore, plants hold enhanced potency on the day and night of midsummer and it is a tradition to weave a flower crown. These arrangements can be unique depending on the plants chosen for each participant’s needs or can be created for a loved one, focusing on areas such as health, love, good fortune, or overall well-being.
