Community Arts – Printing Patterns and Impressions with community teaching artist Jess Ofelia Sandoval. We will experiment with the classic art activity of potato printing. We’ll cut and stencil different shapes and designs into potatoes, dip them in paint, and print our patterns onto cardstock to create our own unique artwork. We’ll also explore a traditional paint-making method inspired by the Aztecs. We’ll carefully crush cochineal bugs to discover a beautiful red pigment.
Community Arts is held outside in Hermon Park most Saturdays. Join us in exploring the arts, from puppets to painting.
