Drawing Together Mindfulness Drawing workshop for Teens

We’re excited to welcome Drawing Together to Art in the Park for a special Teen Art & Mindfulness Workshop.
Dates: Sunday, January 25 & Sunday, February 1st
Time: 11:00 – 12:00 pm

During this interactive workshop, Drawing Together will introduce what mindfulness is, how it can be used in everyday life, and the important role art plays in emotional regulation. And of course, we’ll be drawing together.
Participants will each receive a copy of the Drawing Together Mindfulness Drawing Workbook to keep which includes 10 drawing exercises, a resource list, and a mental health screener. All exercises are designed to be used with no prior art experience.
Teaching Artist Bio: Teresa Flores is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Los Angeles. Flores has led public programs at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and Spike Art Quarterly in Berlin. In over ten years of teaching, she has taught Visual Culture at California State University, Fresno and studio art for Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena and California Arts Academy. She holds an MFA in Public Practice from Otis College of Art and Design and most recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the County of Los Angeles for her public engagement work with the fire-impacted communities of Pacific Palisades and Malibu.
