You’re warmly invited to the opening of Planetary Resonance, an exhibition by Leslie Ross-Robertson, on November 15th from 2pm – 5pm. The exhibition runs November 15, 2025 – January 10, 2026.
Planetary Resonance invites viewers on an immersive journey through art, design, and sound. At its core is the Planetary Series, a suite of 10 letterpress prints developed over eight years, each interpreting the planets and moon through layered imagery, color, and form. The series is conceived as a contemporary codex, with each print acting as a “page” in a visual manuscript. In the gallery, the prints are presented individually, allowing viewers to engage with each celestial body on its own while still sensing the overarching narrative and rhythm of the collection.
The exhibition expands beyond the prints into sound and video, blending NASA’s planetary recordings with original compositions based on Hans Cousto’s Cosmic Octave, a system that translates orbital frequencies into audible notes. This multisensory experience offers a contemplative space for both exploration and reflection.

Leslie Ross-Robertson is a Los Angeles based artist, designer, and educator whose work merges traditional letterpress techniques with explorations of science, design, and the natural world. She is the founder of Wavelength Press and owner of Modern Optic, a contemporary design studio established in 2001. Her practice emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and collaboration, and she has produced special edition prints with renowned contemporary artists and poets.
Ross-Robertson’s letterpress work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and projects that connect the precision of printmaking with themes of transformation and interconnectedness. In addition to her studio practice, she advocates for eco-friendly materials, supports social and environmental causes, and teaches advanced letterpress to BFA and MFA students as Laboratory Press Manager at Otis College of Art and Design. www.modern-optic.com, www.wavelengthpress.com, www.otis.edu/laboratory-press
