Art in the Park welcomes our newest Artist-in-Residence: Bed & Breakfast!
Bed & Breakfast is rooted in hospitality and thinking critically about social, structural, and emotional obstacles that prevent a public from experiencing both the arts and the broader acquisition of knowledge. During their time at the park, B&B will work with artists, community members, and neighbors to host public programs for all ages, including a collaboration with artist gloria galvez. Titled home is where the bat is, this project contemplates bats, their lives, dwellings, and future in direct proximity to the LA River where several species of bats dwell.
Latin Jazz has moved to Thursdays!
Latin Percussion Lab is from 3:15pm – 4pm and Latin Jazz Sessions are from 4:30pm – 6pm. Everyone is welcome, so come on down.
Community Band and Community Arts!
We aren’t having them the last weekend of August—happy Labor Day!—but For the month of September we have Community Band and Community Arts every Saturday from 11am – 1pm. Bed & Breakfast will be taking over Community Arts, and Stewart and Rafael will be taking over Community Band while Logan Hone and Jessica Li welcome their new baby (Congratulations!!)
