DESCRIPTION:COMMUNITY BAND IN THE PARK\n\n  \n\nCommunity Band at Hermon Park is held outside in the park each Saturday\, as a series of creative musical sessions and concerts started by Logan Hone and led by Stwert Wheeler. Musicians of all skill levels\, ages\, & backgrounds are invited to join the band in learning an eclectic mix of music\, including jazz\, latin\, folk\, & original material. Participation is FREE. Bring your instrument and water. Percussion instruments are provided. \nWhen: Most Saturdays\, 11am-1pm \n Check IG @artintheparkla for updates \nWhere: Hermon Park\, 5568 Via Marisol\, LA\, CA 90042  \n(next to the Art in the Park building near far tennis courts) \n Questions? Feel free to contact info@artintheparkla.org \nCommunity Band is made possible through a partnership between Art in the Park and Neighborhood Music school.  \nHeath and Safety: \nThe Community Band will be held outside on days with good weather. On days with excessive heat or rain\, the Community Band will be held indoors. DESCRIPTION:FLOWERS\, APPLES\, EGGS\, MILK\n\n\nExhibition by Claire Zarouhee Nereim\nMay 2nd—31st\, 2026\nOpening: Saturday May 2nd\, from 3-6pm\nGallery Hours: Saturdays in May\, from 2pm – 5pm. \nIn Flowers\, apples\, eggs\, milk\, recent work by Claire Zarouhee Nereim connects the feminization of botanical architectural ornament with the politics of care labor. Her fractal drawings\, made with drafting tools\, are inspired by garden design\, diagrams of reproductive bodies\, and teaching toys for children. Their rhythmic geometries describe the repetitive\, shifting patterns of caregiving and foreground the unpredictable nature of reproduction. \nAmong these drawings sprout sculptures responding to existing architecture. Blue crescent-moon nightlights create a semi-floral frieze around the perimeter of the room; a series of peach pit chains echo lines of trim\, and ceramic seed-sculptures line the massive fireplace. Through repetition\, poetic logic\, and open-ended systems\, points of flux in meaning-making processes are revealed. \nClaire Zarouhee Nereim is a Los Angeles-based interdisciplinary artist. Primarily working in drawing\, sculpture\, and writing\, Nereim foregrounds the materiality of language while exploring various relationships between architecture\, botany\, and feminized bodies. Nereim has exhibited across the United States and in Europe and has published artist’s projects in The Believer and X-TRA Contemporary Art Journal.
