Author and historian Justin T Clark will be reading from his books, The Zero Season followed by a conversation between the Author and Artist Avelardo Ibarra.

The Zero Season is the debut novel of Justin Tyler Clark, a Singapore-based historian and the author of City of Second Sight (UNC), a history of 19th-century Boston. A graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, he has written for the L.A. Times, Boston Globe, and the Modern Love column of the New York Times, among many other venues. He is the winner of the American Journalism Historians Association’s annual Best Article prize, and Best Feature finalist at the Southern California Journalism Awards.
Avelardo Ibarra lives and works in East Los Angeles. He attended CalArts for performance and fine art studies. He has worked through literary, performative, sculptural and pictorial practices to explore personal/social trauma, banality, conundrum and marvel that intersect throughout the becoming of self, other and community. Past works and collaborations include; UNINCORPORATED (Pieter Space, LA, ‘13), HABLANDO SOLO (1) (Decolonize LA, ‘16), and HABLANDO SOLO (2) (At Land’s Edge, ‘17), and IMMEDIATE PERSON (“I’M HERE-”, Art in the Park, ‘19).
